I just listened to "Hard Rock Hallelujah" by Lordi. Band Rocks big time. I liked it. If the competition was close by any other bands there is going to be a lot of good music coming from them. 🙂 That front man is way different.

As a Tolkien and Rock fan I just loved seeing a bunch of orcs playing metal. Cool battle axe and balrog wings! Eurovision has been rocked!

Is this really hard rock? It sounds like Van Halen or Guns 'n' Roses, which is not positive. There must be another genre of music one can cling on to this which does it more justice. 'Silly Rock', or something?

Wikipedia says "Lordi is a melodic hard rock"
Encyclopaedia Metallum says "Genre Heavy Metal Lyrical theme Monsters"

But that applies to all there music. I'm not sure if this was a softer song.

They call themselves melodic hard rock as well.

Lordi's music has been described as a mix of AC/DC, KISS, and W.A.S.P.
